Overview:
The course is designed to be undertaken as an onsite and in the workplace Learnership, in that the theoretical component will be delivered as classroom contact sessions. The practical component will be completed at the learner’s place of work, and therefore be relevant to the company in which he is employed. The theoretical classroom sessions will be at least on day per week throughout the learnership. The practical component consists of on the job training recorded on compulsory logbooks signed by identified workplace mentors.

- Health, safety and environment legislation and procedures.
- The operation and monitoring of machines.
- Assembly and manufacture of components.
- Completion of finishing operations and dispatching of product.
- Use and care of tools and equipment.
- Reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings.
- Preparation of surfaces.
